Who we are

Lookward is made by Bartlett Electronics, Bartlett, Tennessee, USA. This policy covers the lookward.app website and the Lookward update service at updates.lookward.app. Questions: support@lookward.app.

Lookward runs on your servers

Lookward is installed on infrastructure you control. The DNS lookups it collects, its History, reports, device names, accounts and settings stay on that server. We don't receive, host or have access to any of it unless you send it to us, for example in a support bundle. Support bundles never include lookups or History, and passwords, keys and tokens are removed before the bundle is created; you can also mask IP addresses.

If you turn on the optional AI insights, your server sends aggregate per-site counts (devices per app, lookups per minute and, if your TVs show risky activity, flagged lookup counts), your organization's name and kind, and the local time to Anthropic using your API key, under your agreement with Anthropic. No device names, IP addresses, user names or individual lookups are sent. We are not part of that exchange.

What we collect on this website, and why

  • Trial, quote and partner requests. Your name, work email, organization, organization type, number of sites and anything you write in the form, plus the country your request came from. We use these to send what you asked for, reply to you and follow up about Lookward (including one check-in email near the end of a trial).
  • Purchases. When you buy online we keep your name, work email, organization, the plan and number of sites, the amount paid, the card brand and last four digits, and the payment processor's transaction reference, so we can issue and renew your license and keep tax records. Card payments are handled by Valor PayTech on its own secure page; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Downloads. When you use an emailed download link we record that it was used and when, so we know the email arrived.
  • Update checks. If update checking is on, a Lookward server sends its installed version, release channel and license ID (or "trial") every few hours. When it downloads an update it sends its license key so we can confirm the license covers that release; we check the key and don't store it.
  • Network addresses. We don't store IP addresses. For rate limiting and to count servers, we keep a one-way salted hash of the address instead.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your information, use advertising or tracking cookies, or build advertising profiles. This site sets no cookies of its own. The live demo plays back a recording of a fictional district and makes no network requests of its own.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare hosts this site and the update service, and its Turnstile check helps keep spam out of the forms. Turnstile may process browser and device signals to tell people from bots.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you.
  • Valor PayTech processes card payments.
  • Google Fonts serves the typefaces on this site, so your browser requests them from Google.

How long we keep it

Form requests are kept while we're in touch about Lookward and for up to two years after our last contact. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires. Update check-in records are deleted after 13 months.

Your choices

Email support@lookward.app to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop follow-up emails. Update checks can be turned off in Lookward under Settings → Updates.

Students and children

This website is for IT staff at organizations, and we don't knowingly collect information from children here. The student and staff device activity that Lookward shows is collected by, stored on and controlled by your organization's own server, under your policies (for US schools, including FERPA and your state's student-privacy law). We never receive it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell customers by email.
